 3rd Party Access- Application Process & ADVERTS
            
​Train Operator Companies (TOCs) ​can apply to be allocated train slots, provided they meet the technical, regulatory, and safety requirements set out in the Advert and other subsequent documents to be released at appropriate stages of the process.

Transnet recognises th​at the process of application, evaluation and award will require investment in both time and monetary resources therefore a staged evaluation approach is introduced to afford applicants the opportunity to assess their ability to meet minimum requirements to operate trains.​

​APPLICATION PROCESS (STEPS) ​
​Step 1: Advertisement on 01 April 2022.
​
​Step 2: Information Sharing Session
    • An Information Sharing Session will be held on Friday 08 April 2022, 11:00 to 13:00
    • In person at Transnet, Esselen Park, Kempton Park
    • Space is limited for in person attendance, interested parties to submit booking (space may be restricted to 2 people per organization on a first come first serve basis, depending on the responses received).

​Step 3: Pre-Screening
  • After attending the briefing session, prospective Applicants will screen their business capability against requirements in the Self-screening Form to determine whether to proceed with the next stage of the steps Competitive Contracting Process and inform TFR of their intention to proceed.​
​
​Step 4: Submissions and Evaluation - Desktop and Physical

​Step 5: Response, Consultation, Negotiation and Contracting
​
​Step 6: Implementation 
​
